As one of the best startups in the aquaculture sector, DELOS received an invitation to participate in BUMN Startup Day 2022. This event was held on September 26-28, 2022, at ICE BSD City, Tangerang Regency.
BUMN Startup Day is a form of collaboration between the government, the Ministry of BUMN, venture capital, and startups from various sectors in Indonesia. The hope is that this event will support the younger generation to participate in Indonesia’s economic development to achieve digital sovereignty.
Several programs presented at the BUMN Startup Day include business matching, rapid mentoring, investor pitching, and startup exhibitions from all over Indonesia. In particular, CEO of DELOS, Guntur Mallarangeng, participated in Rapid Mentoring to share his views on entrepreneurship and technology.
Form of Collaboration between the Ministry of SOEs and Startups
Over the past few years, Indonesia has become the 6th ranked country with the most number of startups, namely 2,346 startups. This number will continue to grow along with the rapid development of technology. What’s more, the potential of the nation’s children is also extraordinary.
These startups are important in driving change and economic growth in Indonesia. However, making it happen requires support from various parties. This underlies the Ministry of State Owned Enterprises, then launched the BUMN Startup Day.
Overall, this event is divided into two major segments: education and business opportunities. The education segment consists of panel discussions and rapid mentoring. Meanwhile, business matching and investor pitching are in the business opportunity segment.
CEO of DELOS Provides Mentoring for New Businesses
The success of DELOS CEO Guntur Mallarangeng in building the best aquatech startup in Indonesia honored him to share experiences in the Rapid Mentoring session at BUMN Startup Day this time.
In this session, Guntur provides mentoring to new people in business to develop their business. Not only limited to aquaculture but also the startup business as a whole.
DELOS Sees Opportunities from Jokowi’s Criticism of Lack of Aquaculture Startups
At the opening of the BUMN Startup Day event, President Joko Widodo criticized the lack of startups engaged in aquaculture during the current food crisis. To be precise, there is only about 4% of aquaculture and agriculture startups of the total startups in Indonesia. This food issue is one of the big problems that must be solved with technology.
The presence of DELOS as a technology and science-based aquaculture company seems to be the answer to the food problems facing Indonesia. What’s more, this is also in line with DELOS’ aspiration to become the leader of the blue revolution and make Indonesia the largest shrimp producer in the world.
Through integrated upstream to downstream pond management with AquaHero, we can optimize the productivity of our partners’ shrimp ponds. In addition, we also have a Supply Chain Integration program that can help farmers to meet their cultivation needs.
During BUMN Startup Day, DELOS will be present for three consecutive days. So, if you are curious about how an aquatech startup can be the answer to Indonesia’s food needs, visit the DELOS booth to find the answer!
