Dalam previous post, you’ve heard of DOC, FCR, ABW, to general terms such as Tonnage and size, but there are some more terms in the world of shrimp farming that you’ve probably never heard before, here are some of those terms you might find:
1. ADG
ADG (Average Daily Gain) is the daily weight gain in a certain period.
2. Repair
Repair means repair, for example improving the quality of water in a pond.
3. Cool Storage
Cool Storage means a cold storage room, is a place to store vaname shrimp production.
4. Cycle
Cycle means one season of cultivation, from land preparation to total harvest.
5. WFD
White Feces Disease, shrimp disease in the form of white fluid in the intestines, better known as white stools or white telek.
6. Fermentation
Namely the process of making natural bacteria and plankton as a natural food source for shrimp.
7. Seeds
Vaname Shrimp Seedlings are usually given an age of PL (Post Larvae), for example, PL 7, PL 5 or PL 12, meaning that the fry are 7, 5 and 12 days old.
8. EMS
EMS (Early Mortality Syndrome) is a disease in white shrimp that is caused by the bacterium Vibrio parahaemolyticus.
9. Bacillus SP
The type of bacteria that is very useful for vaname shrimp, is usually used in the fermentation process. It also contains probiotics.
